Job Description:
Teach in Taiwan
So you have now finished your degree and you would like to work overseas? How about choosing a Jump Start school in Taiwan?
WHY TAIWAN?
These days Taiwan is probably the best place to come to if you want to work in Asia. It is a good place to work, to save money and it is cheap to fly out of to places like Thailand, the Philippines etc. The people are friendly and helpful and there is lots of do and see here. A good place to live, except for the traffic and air pollution in some places ¡V but there many other Asian countries that are worse than here for that.
WHY JUMP START?
English Immersion Schools with Great kids and the best working conditions
WHY NOT A CRAM SCHOOL OFFERING MORE MONEY?
There are a few schools offering more money than Jump Start but there is always a price to pay. Large classes, lots of traveling to do, games with visas, broken promises, late payment of salaries or just a bad school to work in. Many of our teachers have come to us from that life.
WHAT DOES JUMPSTART OFFER?
„h Good salaries starting from NT$ 55,000 „h Increments for qualifications and experience „h Four weeks Paid Vacation + National Holidays „h Work Visa & Health Insurance ¡V Provided by Jump Start „h Guaranteed hours with extra hours available „h Promotion and increment system „h Lunch meal included „h Airport pickup & orientation provided „h Teaching children from ages 3 ¡V 12 years „h Small class size (8-15 students) with low intensity curriculum & schedules „h No change in class ¡V own class for whole year „h Planned curriculum with complete teaching materials
WHO IS JUMPSTART LOOKING FOR?
„h kindergarten/ elementary teachers needed from September 1, 2002. (or from July 1) „h Native speaker of English „h Degrees holders, Bachelor or above „h Preferably B. Ed graduates, especially early childhood or elementary specialists „h Enthusiastic teachers who like children „h Teaching experience required but it doesn¡¦t have to be with children

Qualified English Instructors Needed
English House, located in Chinju, Korea, has a very good reputation with students and their parents. This is due to excellent educational visions, programs and facilities. Our staff of highly qualified educational professionals provide the enthusiasm and hard work that makes our institute successful.
Our most important consideration is warm professional relationships based on mutual understanding and respect, which you would enjoy with the staff at English House. We hope that you will consider becoming part of our institution.
We are currently seeking native English speakers with teaching experience (preferably those who hold a teaching certificate or credential, with some elementary or secondary teaching experience). We are especially interested in applicants with experience or interest in teaching English and science; however, if you hold a BA or BS degree and feel you can fulfill the teaching duties described below, we would welcome your application.
Our school is exceptional because of its unique educational perspective and practices. In addition to our standard conversational English courses, we are pioneering a new series of courses modeled on the Western classroom and designed to prepare Korean students for further education overseas (more detailed information on these classes is available upon request). Teachers' duties include a maximum of 30 teaching hours per week (but usually, our teachers do not teach more than 27 teaching hours per week.) and daily classroom preparation. We don't have any split schedules, and except during short vacation periods, we don't work on weekends.
For qualified applicants, English House offers a higher salary than one might expect from other Korean language institutes. Our monthly salary range is from 1.9 million to 2.2 million won, depending on teaching experience and qualifications. In addition to the salary, we will offer other benefits, such as Korean National Medical Insurance, half of which is paid by our institute. In addition to these benefits, round-trip airfare is provided, fully-furnished living accomodations, and severance pay equivalent to one-month salary. Our greatest concern is keeping our students and teachers happy, and we will do all we can to achieve that goal.
The city of Chinju is located approximately 70 miles west of Pusan, the second largest city in Korea. Chinju is a beautiful, historic city with the population of about 350,000 people. Students account for one third of the population. The city has a beautiful river running through it, and Chirisan, Korea's largest national park, is only 30 minutes away. Chinju was previously the administrative center of the western part of Kyungnam Province, and still has a historic fortress in the city's center. It is also a traditional stronghold of education: there are three national universities, three colleges, and many private and public k-12 schools.
If you are interested in a position at our institute, please send your cover letter, resume, and a recent scanned photograph by email to us at englishhouse@hotmail.com . Or you can contact by telephone 82-55-742-9905 or fax to 82-55-742-9805. We would appreciate it if you could let us know your earliest possible starting date.

Established in Fall 1993, the SFS Center for Sustainable Development Studies in Atenas focuses on the development of sustainable management models for Costa Rica's abundant but threatened natural resources using small communities as the operational unit and honoring the social, cultural and economic development needs of local residents.
The Center for Sustainable Development Studies is located in the Central Valley Region of Costa Rica. Recent increases in the regional population have resulted in greater pressure on the natural resource base, particularly related to conventional agriculture and urban development. Additionally, population pressure threatens the longevity of lands under protection, as well as associated benefits such as biodiversity protection. The Center recognizes the need for developing models of sustainable natural resource use, development and protection in its five-year research plan. The Center's research includes investigating the economic, social and ecological viability of alternative agriculture and protected areas.
