    By Ike Enwereuzor

Undefeated WBC International middleweight champion, The "Alpenkoenig" Jerry Elliott (29-0-1) 23KO's captured his WBC international laural in September 2000. He has defended his title two and is expected to make his next title defence against unbeaten Italian middleweight Christian Sanavia (21-0) 10KO's on Febuary 17, 2001 in Padua, Italy.

Q: Please, tell our readers about your upcoming showdown with Christian Sanavia (21-0) 10KO's on Febuary 17, in Padua, Italy
A: They gave me the fight in a short notice, I just fought January 29, now I'm fighting again Febuary 17. They maybe afraid, he may not be able to go 12 rounds so he needs to be in good condition. I'm certainly ready for this fight, I'm fine. My preparing is going fine. I'm ready to go. I don't think the fight will go a distance. I'll be flying to Italy Wednesday. I'm in good condition. If the judges are fair, there's no reason why I shouldn't win. I watched his past fights, he's a southpaw more like a fighter than a boxer. If he's not in top shape then he'll be in big trouble but if he comes in good condition then we just have to go at it. I got about two offers from Nigeria, a fight in Enugu or Lagos. The guy they want me to fight was a former African Champion. I forgot his name.

Q: Please, tell us about your last fight January 29?
A: The guy I fought was a journeyman, I knocked him out in second.

Q: Your impression of Armand "Lion" Krajnc of Landskrona, Sweden?
A: His manager Kohl don't want Armand to face me. We have asked them twice but they wouldn't fight me. They must be scared to fight me. I want to fight Armand anytime anywhere.

Q: What do you want to achieve in Boxing?
A: I want to beat Christian on Saturday Feb.17 then defend my title again in Nigeria before I move to America this year to challenge all best middleweights.

Q: Your impression of all the middleweight world champs?
A: I respect any champion, I respect them even more when they don't duck and fight deserving contenders. I think I deserve to fight for a world title but let me pass Christian first, maybe Armand will be ready then.

Q: Any comments to boxing fans?
A: I want to thank all my fans for their support. I hope they keep supporting me and I'll not disappoint them. I'll prove to the world that I'm one of the best middleweight in the world today. I'm ready for all the champions.
