The Nigeria Civil War Veterans have commended Governor Peter Obi for unprecedented care, love and honour showered on the Late Ikemba Nnewi while alive and for given him a befitting burial.
 
In a release signed by the Chairman Mr. John Mozie; the Secretary, Mr. Charles ; and the Public Relation Officer, Mr. Polite Chidebe, the ex soldier recalled that Governor Obi expended time and huge resources in taking care of Dim Ojukwu both in Nigeria and in the London hospital.
 
The veterans noted that the Governor through his goodwill with the Federal Government and International Organizations gave the Late Igbo Icon the most celebrated burial ceremonies, with full military honours which they said had not been witnessed before in the continent of Africa.
 



They equally thanked the All Progressive Grand  Alliance and President Goodluck Jonathan for the numerous contributions.
 
The War Veterans also expressed gratitude to Governor Obi for his sustained financial support and empowerment of their members and prayed God to continue to guide, protect and endow him with good health and wisdom to complete his vision for the State.
 
The release disclosed that completion of names of all ex-soldiers of the Nigerian Civil War throughout the country has commenced and  will be forwarded to the Defence headquarter of the Nigeria Army on completion for processing and payment of entitlements as approved and directed by President Goodluck Jonathan.
