Hilary Duff can’t wait for her first Christmas with son Luca.

The ‘Lizzie Maguire’ star and husband Mike Comrie welcomed their first child nine months ago and the couple are excited to spend the festive season with him and their extended family in Newport Beach, California. Hilary told Access Hollywood: “It’s nine kids going crazy, basically wrapping paper flying in the air, toys everywhere and mayhem,” she says. “We’re really looking forward to that - we get to bring a baby this year! - so it’s really exciting.”

Hilary, 25, also revealed she and Mike have had to make some adjustments to their home since having a baby, specifically the Christmas tree. She explained: “He’s into everything. I’m running around the house just trying to keep up with him. He’s so fast! “He loves the Christmas tree. Obviously we have a funny looking Christmas tree [because] all the ornaments are at the top.”

While Hilary and Mike are enjoying parenthood for the first time, they are hoping to expand their family once Luca is a little older. She previously said: “Mike and I are literally obsessed with Luca. We’re like, ‘He’s perfect. We should just be one and done.’ But I think once your baby starts getting older you miss that phase and you go in for round two. Maybe when [Luca's] two or three?”

Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan have a “deep bond”.

The ‘Anger Management’ actor recently gave the troubled starlet $100,000 to help pay off her hefty $233,904 tax bill and while Lindsay didn’t thank him until Charlie publicly complained, Lindsay’s mother Dina insists the pair are close. She told "Lindsay continues to feel an immeasurable respect and love for her dear friend Charlie Sheen. They have a deep bond and she has expressed privately her sincerest gratitude to Charlie for his immense generosity on her behalf. She and I are deeply appreciative for his kindest of gestures. Charlie you are a true gentleman."

Lindsay, 26, sent Charlie a bunch of flowers and a hand-written letter in which she explained to him that she didn't mean to be rude but couldn't contact him because she lost his number when her phone broke recently. The former 'Two And A Half Men' star generously helped out his 'Scary Movie 5' co-star when he heard she was having financial difficulties after not being paid for one of her projects but Charlie admitted he was unimpressed that she accepted money from him but didn't acknowledge it. He said: "She got shorted and I found out, so I said: 'Here'. I'm still waiting for a text to say 'Thank you'. Anything you know?"

Brooke Mueller has left rehab.

The former wife of Charlie Sheen – who was undergoing her 19th attempt at beating drug addiction – checked out of the treatment facility after just six days on Sunday (16.12.12).

According to gossip website TMZ, Brooke, 35, is undergoing "ongoing psychological outpatient treatment" and is "feeling much better,” after a suspected overdose on prescription medication Adderall before being admitted to rehab.

Brooke’s three-year-old twins with Charlie, Bob and Max had been staying with Charlie's second wife Denise Richards because Brooke had fired her nanny, but are now being looked after by the troubled star's family.

In June, Charlie, 47, urged Brooke to check herself into rehab after he became concerned about her when she reportedly appeared "out of it" during a visit to his home.

A source close to Brooke said at the time, she "partied for four days straight ... and ultimately fell off the wagon". The insider added: "Brooke's family is hoping that she finally understands the consequences of her actions. That is, she risks losing all of her rights to the children if she doesn't get clean - once and for all."

Miley Cyrus' dog Lila was killed by one of her other pets.

The 'Party in the USA' singer expressed her heartbreak after losing her beloved pup last week (11.12.12) - even dedicating her performance at the 'VH1 Divas' concert to Lila last night (16.12.12) - and now her mother, Tish Cyrus, has revealed the terrier was fatally attacked by Miley's English bulldog, Ziggy.

Tish wrote on her official blog: "As for Miley, it's been a really tough week. As you all know her beloved baby girl Lila passed away. Everyone has been so precious and so supportive of her and I love you all so much for that. Miley loved Lila more than anyone can imagine. I know some people were saying it's JUST a dog, but to Miley she was so much more.

"The way that Lila was taken from her was beyond terrible. Sometimes things happen that we just can't understand. Miley still isn't ready to talk about it, but I thought you guys should know what happened. For some unknown reason, Ziggy grabbed Lila. Not really sure if she was playing or what? She grabbed her in just the wrong spot and Lila didn't survive."

Tish continued the 20-year-old singer-and-actress wasn't ready to talk about her painful loss, and that she was further devastated after deciding to give up Ziggy.

"We took Ziggy to SPOT dog rescue and they found her a new home with no other pets or children just in case it wasn't a fluke. So not only did Miley lose Lila, she feels she lost Ziggy as well."

Miley announced her loss last week on Twitter, writing: "For everyone asking ... I have never been so hurt in my life. My heart has never been so broken..... Lila my sweet baby girl has passed away. (sic)

"Broken. Gonna go MIA (Missing In Action) for a bit. Need some healing time. Thank you to everyone who has sent love my way. I need it. (sic)"

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum are expecting their first child.

The couple – who met on the set of ‘Step Up’ in 2006 and married in 2009 – will welcome the new addition to their family next year.

Channing’s representative told People magazine: “Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Channing Tatum are pleased to announce that they are expecting the birth of their first child next year.”

While Jenna and Channing, both 32, have spoken previously about wanting to start a family, the pregnancy was reportedly a “total surprise”, according to Us Weekly.

The ‘Magic Mike’ actor recently revealed he wants a large family, but admitted Jenna may not agree.

He said: “I’m ready; I think she’s ready. The first number that pops into my head is three, but I just want one to be healthy and then we’ll see where we go after that.”

“It’s really easy for us guys to say, ‘I want like 15 kids’, Jenna will be like, ‘Well you better get another wife!’”

Despite the couple's busy work schedules, they make sure to spend time with each other by having a rule by where they never spend too much time apart.

Jenna said: "We do everything other happy couples do ... You communicate, you make sure you see each other.

"Our schedules make it a little difficult at times and you have to make sure you have, like a rule. We have a like a two-week rule. So we see each other every two weeks. If you want to make it work, you make it work. That's what happens."

Tom Cruise loves filming in London.

The 50-year-old actor has had a blast over the past five months shooting his new action flick 'All You Need Is Kill' in the UK capital and other parts of the country and thinks British crews and set designers are among the best in the world.

Speaking in the new issue of Britain's OK! magazine, he said: "I've been here for almost five months. I love it here. I've made so any films here and the time I've spent, it's wonderful, you've got so many great crews here, great craftsmen. Of course, I've worked with so many of the actors here and it's a wonderful place to live."

The Hollywood icon - whose divorce from 'Dawson's Creek' star Katie Holmes was finalised in July - admits one of his motivations for getting into acting was to experience a jet-set lifestyle, because he loves to travel.

Even though Tom misses his six-year-old daughter Suri - who lives in New York City with her mother Katie - while he is in England, he insists the cast and crew on 'All You Need Is Kill' have become like a family because they have bonded so well.

Tom enthused: "I love travelling. I dreamed of being able to travel to different places, there's not just one particular thing. I've made a lot of films here so a lot of the crew I've known since I was a kid, so it's just a real pleasure."

Mel C is planning a "Christmas Spice Girls night out".

The singer doesn't want to go too wild ahead of Christmas Day (25.12.12), but will be getting together with her bandmates - Mel B, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham - to celebrate the festive season at some point.

Mel - who is mother to Scarlett, three - said: "Having a little one around I don't want to get too drunk, but I'll have a Christmas Spice Girls night out. We'll go to someone's house and buy for each other's children."

Mel - who joined her bandmates at the premiere of the Spice Girls musical 'Viva Forever!' earlier this month - will be lending a hand when it comes to making the traditional Christmas lunch, but she will be leaving the majority of the cooking to her mother.

The 'Jesus Christ Superstar' star added to new! magazine: " I'm going to be in London with my family and Scarlett. My mum's doing the cooking and Scarlett and I will make mince pies with Christmas music playing in the background."

Mel, 38, split from Scarlett's father Thomas Starr in July bringing an end to their 10-year relationship.

Stevie Wonder has donated $100,000 to help a little girl fight cancer.

The soul legend called 10-year-old Jasmine Faulk up on stage and presented her with a giant cheque while he was performing at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles last Saturday (15.12.12).

Stevie then serenaded Jasmine - who is battling an aggressive form of paediatric cancer known called Alveoler Rhabdomyosarcoma, which affects muscle tissue - with a heartfelt rendition of 'Isn't She Lovely', her favourite Stevie song.

The delighted girl grabbed the microphone and shouted, "I love you Stevie!", before giving him a big hug.

Jasmine's father, a Hermosa Beach police officer, has been privately employed by Stevie since 1997.

A post on Jasmine's blog - which was created by her uncle - thanked the 62-year-old musician for his generosity and his amazing gesture.

The online entry read: "She (Jasmine) attended Stevie Wonder's 17th Annual House Full of Toys Concert that her daddy works as security and not only did she enjoy the show as always, she was a part of it! At one point during the show Stevie Wonder called her up on stage, told her story, and sang her favourite song of his, 'ISN'T SHE LOVELY'. He then ended by so kindly giving her foundation an incredible donation!!! (sic)"

Last week, 'Anger Management' star Charlie Sheen donated $75,000 to Jasmine's cancer fund last week after learning about her tragic story through his stunt double Eddie Braun, who had donated $25,000 himself.

The father of five was touched by her courage after meeting her police officer dad, telling him: "No parent should have to watch their kid go through that."

Charlie subsequently wrote a generous cheque for the police department's fund to raise money for Jasmine, who needs over a year of expensive medical treatments, including chemotherapy and radiation.

Tom Cruise is reportedly buying his daughter a $13.5 million house for Christmas.

Suri Cruise - Tom's daughter with ex-wife Katie Holmes - will celebrate her first Christmas since her parents' divorce earlier this year with her very own New York City mansion and a pony.

The 50-year-old actor will have custody of Suri, six, for Christmas and is splashing out on lavish gifts including the multi-million pound home in Upstate New York so she can have a place to keep her pony and all of her other toys, including a $30,000 miniature race car he bought for her in 2010.

A source told Britain's Grazia magazine: "Tom is determined to make this the best Christmas ever."

When Katie, 33, announced her split from Tom in June she left Los Angeles and moved to New York City with Suri where they live in a luxury Manhattan apartment.

Tom intends to use the 'Big Apple' property as a base for when he comes to visit his daughter and it will have lots of rooms for her pony and all her toys.

The source added: "Obviously there isn't anywhere to keep a pony at Katie's apartment, so this place is ideal. It also has space for her toys, many of which have been in storage since Katie quit their LA mansion."

Speaking of his Christmas plans with Suri at the 'Jack Reacher' premiere in London last week, Tom said: "We've got lots of special things planned. We're all going to be together."

[ Masterweb Reports ] – Special adviser to the President on Niger Delta Matters, Hon KIngsley Kuku said yesterday that Nigeria could earn more than six billion dollars annually if it exports seafarers to other countries of the world to facilitate maritime related activities, insisting that until a radical and aggressive capacity building programmes for training of maritime professionals are put in place for youths, the country could not sufficiently meet the local content requirement in the sector.
Kuku explained that one of the ways Nigeria could bridge the gap in the requirement of indigenous professionals in the maritime sector, is for government to continue to develop capacity in the field by sending more youths outside the country for training, such that in a few years time, it could rival the feat of countries like Phillipines, which parades itself as one of the countries in the world that export the highest number seafarers that service the global maritime industry.

Speaking at the send-off ceremony for 525 qualified student cadets and ratings facilitated by the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency ( NIMASA), at the Nigerian Maritime Resource Development Centre in Apapa, Lagos, Kuku explained the training programme facilitated by NiMASA is a manifestation of the desire of government to enhance the capacity of youths to close the widening gap in the demand for indigenous professionals in the maritime sector.

He urged the youths to utilise the opportunity created by the training to enhance their lot, as part of the capacity development programme of government.

He spoke of plans by the Presidential Amnesty Office, for which he is chairman to forge closer ties with NIMASA for the training of Nigerian youths in the maritime sector, even as he said NIMASA created the template for the curriculum of training for youths in the Niger Delta region for the amnesty programme.

He explained that In the last fifteen years, Nigeria has failed abysmally to place enough persons in prescribed training courses leading up to obtaining International Seafarers Certifications. Kuku said : " So, in spite of a well-intended cabotage law, we remain unable to exploit the huge potential in this strategic and extremely viable sub-sector of our economy. This extremely embarrassing lapse brings me to my other interest in Seafaring. With the staunch backing of NIMASA, the Presidential Amnesty Office is resolute and determined to help remedy this huge paucity in seafaring manpower in Nigeria.

In the last two years alone, the Amnesty Office has completed the training of 742 Niger Delta youths in several fields in the critical maritime sector. 428 others are still in training. Of this total number 67 youths were placed in Seafaring programmes. They are in first class facilities in the United States of America, Vietnam, Italy, Poland, Ghana and here in Nigeria.
NIMASA and the Amnesty Office must collectively confront in our common bid to groom a generation of seafarers in the shortest time possible. I am talking about the challenging of putting our Seafaring trainees in vessels to gain the mandatory sea time rating to earn them international certification as able seamen and true seafarers."

He said further : " The Amnesty Office trusts that NIMASA will continue to doggedly enforce all extant carbotage laws to compel vessels entering our shores and doing business in Nigeria to take in young Nigerian Seafarers. NIMASA must insist on the severest punishment or penalty for Operators and owners of these vessels who fail to comply with aspects of our carbotage laws that seek to encourage sea time experience for Nigerian Seafarers.

He spoke of plans to partner with NIMASA to train and internationally certify a new generation of Nigerian Seafarers who will fill the huge vacuum that currently exists in our nation’s maritime sector and in the process buoy our fledgling economy.

Like NIMASA, the Presidential Amnesty Office aspires to help Nigeria meet its quota of well trained and exposed Seafarers and possibly export several others to other countries of the world like the Republic of Philippines, which currently supplies over 30 per cent of the world’s seafarer needs by exporting over 300,000 seafarers to the international shipping labour market.
If the Philippines can earn as much as $6 billion annually as remittances from seafarers export, Nigeria can by 2020 earn even a higher amount from remittances from the export of the skills of the youths."

[ Masterweb Reports ] –  (Onitsha-Nigeria, 16th December 2012)-It is no longer news that Nigeria has recorded 42 deadly air crashes in 43 years since September 20, 1969, when a Nigerian Airways flight BAC VC 10 crashed landed, killing all 87 passengers on board. What is now shocking news is the high rate at which Nigeria’s top political and security personnel are killed in what most likely appears as plotted fatal air crashes. They are plotted because they look like bomb or suicide-oriented air crashes. From verifiable media reports and common sense, the March 14, 2012 police helicopter air crash in Jos that killed the late DIG Haruna John and three other senior police officers (ACP Garuba Yalwa, CSP Alexander Pwol and Sgt. Sonatan Shirinaru) and December 15, 2012 military helicopter air crash at Nembe, Bayelsa State that killed Gov. Patrick Ibrahim Yokowa of Kaduna State and five others( Rtd. Gen. Andrew Owoye Azazi, Dauda Tsoho, Commander Murtala Mohammed Daba, Lt. Adeyemi O. Sowole and Warrant Officer Mohammed Kamal) shared a lot in common(religiously and politically motivated). Competent criminal investigation outcomes would have also revealed semblance of same with respect to the June1, 2012 Dana Air fatal accident in Lagos that killed all the 153 persons on board as well as some residents in the air crash area, unfortunately, Nigerian State security agencies are not only obsolete, but they have abdicated their duties and left same in the hands of quarks like various legislative oversight committees particularly in areas capable of yielding “blood diamonds”.

An effective criminal investigation is a twin brother to effective criminal intelligence. Unfortunately, as we have pointed out at several social forums, the State of Nigeria does not have them and appears not ready to have same in near future going by unfolding sad events. The alarming and shocking part of it all is that while malicious elements holding the State of Nigeria and her peoples to ransom with plethora of security threats, advance in their criminality with their weapons and tactics, the State of Nigeria degrades and retrogresses dangerously. The history of State- plotted fatal air crashes and accidents is not new in Nigeria. On December 1997, under Abacha’s maximum military leadership, the then second in command, Gen. Oladipo Diya narrowly escaped death from a fatal bomb blast at the Abuja International Airport. The bomb was believed to have been plotted from within by the State. On September 26, 1992, 200 young and promising commissioned military officers shockingly perished in an Air Force C 130 fatal air crash, believed to have been plotted from within. The perished officers were referred to as “middle-belt officers”. On 17th January, 1996, Ibrahim Abacha, son of the then Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha was killed in a plane crash. The United Front for Nigeria’s Liberation claimed responsibility. On September17, 2006, 12, out of 15 senior military officers died under suspicious circumstances in a military transport plane (Dornier 228) crash. On September 21, 2005, Comrade Chima Ubani, then vibrant ED of the Nigeria’s Civil Liberties Organization died under highly suspicious circumstances in Maiduguri, Borno State, Northeast of Nigeria during nation-wide rallies by the Labour-Civil Society Coalition (LASCO) against planned increases in the official prices of the petroleum products.

Comrade Ubani was the LASCO’s head of strategy set up to forestall any possible compromises by the then Adams Oshoimole leadership of the NLC. Comrade Ubani was made to go through the road with the Vanguard Newspapers’ photojournalist in a car that reportedly belonged to the NLC presidency. The so-called accident was widely believed to be State-plotted, more so when the whereabouts of the secret police agents reportedly accompanying them were not given. On March 14, 2012, DIG Haruna John, then new DIG Operations at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters got killed along side three other senior police officers (mentioned above) in Jos, Plateau State in a police helicopter crash believed to be politically and religiously motivated. And just dozens of hours ago( 15-12-2012), Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yokowa of Kaduna State and five others including Rtd. Gen. Andrew Owoye Azazi, immediate past National Security Adviser, were killed in a military helicopter crash in Nembe, Bayelsa State, South-south Nigeria. Before his death, believed to have been plotted, Mr. Patrick Yokowa was the elected governor of Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria, a State widely believed to be the capital of the Hausa-Fulani Islamic intellectual radicalism. Therefore, he may have been seen as “foreign governor” desecrating the “Islamic intellectual caliphate”. Gen. Andrew Owoye Azazi too, may or may not have been politically targeted in the fatal air crash.

Regionally, State-plotted air and land accidents abound. Apart from the State-crime being popularized by the Idi Amin brutal regime in Uganda in the 1970s, cases of such have been reported in some African countries in recent years. For instance, on 6th April, 1994, the plane carrying then Presidents Cyprian Ntaryamira of Burundi and Juvenal Habyarimana of Rwanda were made to crash via suspected ground missiles, while trying to land in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, after attending peace meetings in the Arusha city of Tanzania so as to end the raging civil wars in the two countries. The two Presidents died on the spot. Their deaths led to the 100 days war of genocide that killed over 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus. On July 30, 2005, then Col. John Garang de Mabior of the South Sudanese People’s Liberation Army (SPLA/M) was killed in a military helicopter crash in the borders between Uganda, Kenya and Sudan, while returning to his regional capital of Juba after signing a peace treaty with his Sudanese counterpart, Gen. Omar el-Bashir. The helicopter belonged to President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, who was his close ally. The late Col. John Garang de Mabior was believed to have been killed under circumstances plotted by the State. Further instances are numerous to mention.

Therefore, the recent air crashes in Nigeria, particularly those of March 14 and December 15, 2012, and possibly, that of June1, 2012, may most likely be the handiwork of compromised and radicalized elements within the country’s security forces, indoctrinated and brainwashed in the art of sectional and religious fundamentalism by their local sponsors and foreign technical partners. Already, jubilations are taking place in all Muslim communities in northern parts of the country and beyond, thereby attesting to this position of ours. The malicious elements under reference may have thrown to the wind and compromised their professional/ law enforcement oath of honour, code of ethics, code of conduct and canons of policing /law enforcement ethics, and settled radically for their opposites under religious fundamentalist ethical dilemmas. In other words, to them, it is sectional/religious interest first and national interest and national security second. These methods of killing highly placed Nigerians“under clean job or perfect crime” circumstances may also have been brought about by the reported “technical partnership” between Nigeria’s armed Islamists and the advanced groups of same in the Northern part of Africa such as Algeria and Somalia. If this is true, then Nigeria’s top political class citizens and leading vocal voices on socio-political issues including human rights, particularly non-Muslims and moderate Muslims are dangerously endangered except God divinely decrees otherwise.

The porosity and gross incompetence of Nigeria’s security forces may have given room for the infiltration of same by these radical and malicious elements working in collaboration with their local sponsors and foreign “technical partners”. Sadly, the country’s security and investigative intelligences are so obsolete, disorganized, porous and incompetent that they are thousands of miles away from matching these opponents, intelligence for intelligence and technical know-how for technical know-how. Asymmetric warfare does not require brandishing or displaying of small arms or flooding of same at every nook and cranny of the country. It simply requires super technical and intelligence know-how. We reiterate our recent calls contained in our far-reaching recommendations to the Attorney General of the Federation & Minister of Justice, which were copied to ten other top relevant political authorities including President Goodluck Jonathan that the country and battery of her anachronistic security agencies must go back to square one of their drawing board so as re-brand them to be brought in tune with modern concepts, policies and practices of securitization. No amount of calls for foreign helps will succeed because terrain is the hallmark of every local security challenges just as criminal and investigative intelligences are the main pillars of criminal justice system.

[ Masterweb Reports ] – 44-year-old Kaduna Deputy Governor,  Alhaji Mukhtar Yero was sworn-in as governor on Sunday following the death of the incumbent governor, Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa in an air crash on Saturday. The oath of office was administered by Kaduna State Chief Judge, Justice Rahila H. Cudjoe at Government House in Kaduna at 1.05 pm  and witnessed by members of the state executive council, government officials and traditional rulers.
In a speech after he was sworn-in, Yero pledged to finish up the agenda laid out by late Yakowa, and paid tribute to him for his outstanding contributions to the development of the state. He said the vision of Yakowa was to secure, unite and develop Kaduna State. Excerpts from Yero’s speech read: "Our amiable governor, Sir Patrick Yakowa has suddenly left us by answering the call of our creator. Indeed, from Him we all came and to Him we would all, one day, return. In between these periods is the privilege we have to serve humanity.
“We are living testimonies to the fact that our amiable Governor, Sir Patrick Yakowa who came, did serve humanity, in various and diverse capacities. His humility, dedication to duty, fairness to all and sense of humour endeared him to many, near and far, irrespective of religious, tribal or sectional inclinations. No wonder, he was given a pseudo name of Nakowa.
“The vision of Sir Patrick "Nakowa" Yakowa, was to secure, unite and develop Kaduna State. He invested so much on this and started reaping the fruits of his labour. He wished to consolidate and advance on the achievements so far made and hence tagged Kaduna State’s 2013 Budget , which he presented to the Honourable House of Assembly on Thursday 13th , December, the “Budget of Consolidation and Advancement.” I sincerely desire to build on the good foundation that my boss laid. I therefore covet your prayers for God’s wisdom, guidance and direction.
“I take this opportunity to commiserate with the wife and immediate family of his Excellency, Sir Patrick Yakowa, in particular, members of the Government of Kaduna State and the entire citizens of the state over the sad moment we have found ourselves in. May God in His infinite mercies comfort us all. I shall later in the day deliver a state wide broadcast to the citizens of Kaduna state when more details of this sad event are known.”

Yero was Commissioner of Finance in Kaduna State before the death of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua. He was elevated to the position of Deputy Governor to the late governor (Yakowa) in 2010 after then Governor Namadi Sambo was picked by Goodluck Jonathan to serve as Vice President. Yakowa was among six people that died in Bayelsa when a navy helicopter crashed, enroute from the funeral of the father of one of President Jonathan’s Special Advisers. The helicopter was identified as a Navy Agusta, with registration number NN07. Commodore Kabiru Aliyu, Director of Navy Information in a press statement said the helicopter involved in the crash was one of those used for “Operation Pulo Shield” in the Niger Delta area. He confirmed the helicopter was flying from Nembe to Port Harcourt (and not Yenagoa as reported by many news media) when it crashed.
